moody. simple. modern.
my favorite halloween scheme, are you surprised?
In all aspects of my life and design, simplicity is my overall goal. Too much clutter drives me crazy, and I feel like design should be effortless and clean. I decorated my entry table (shown) and a few other areas in my house but I use mostly normal decor, I just bring out all my black and white and every year I buy a few pieces to slowly add to my Halloween decor collection.
3 tips for nailing down your Halloween vibe:
Pick a color scheme and overall vibe. I LOVE me some black and white!! I’m just not a bright orange person you know? My overall vibe is subtle and understated. My house doesn’t need to scream halloween, but it can give off the moody spooky vibe. Focus on layering items (like spider webs, etc.) instead of adding MORE items.
Only pick your favorite pieces + less is more! Pick a few spots to decorate your house. I like the entryway and the living room! You don’t need to change your bathroom towels.. don’t change your bedroom.. you get the picture.
Mix your real decor with holiday decor for a more everyday look. I just pull from my decor stock around my house to create the look I’m going for.

Practical Spooky Living
I don’t have a ton of halloween decor, I just pick a few statement pieces and then layer behind them! My focal point is my pile of pumpkins, and my mantel.
Spider webs and spooky cloth add a lot of texture and drama without cluttering
